What customers say?

“ I liked every dish except first one- cucumbers. Other dishes tested really good, especially pasta with black truffles and lobster tail. Drinks were strong and not too sour. Also I liked dessert, but, from my perspective, dishes were really small and I ( small young lady 118 pounds) left restaurant not full. Otherwise, I had wonderful dinner there and tried new, delicious dishes ”

“ Great restaurant, would recommend. Awesome price to quality ratio. Went with my wife on a Saturday night for dinner. We sat at the bar and had the tasting menu plus some cocktails. Food was delicious, particularly the lobster fried rice (within the "lobster three ways"), the oysters and the dessert (the ice cream was superior). Great combination of flavors and textures. You can really see that, even though is "modern American" food, the identity of the chef is impregned into the dishes. We also tried the hamburger and the chicken sandwich as we stayed several hours talking with Marcos. Both dishes were really good (particularly the hamburger). Cocktails are a strong element of this restaurant, there is a lot of thought and efforts put into them. Nothing to envy to some of the best bars in NYC. I would say this place has a great value preposition which perhaps is not being exploited; given the quality of the cocktails, the great price to quality ratio of the food and the nature of the dishes, it's a great spot for a superior night out without going through the hassle of "fine dining". ”

“ A Truly Memorable Evening at Red Paper Clip (NYC) We had the pleasure of dining at Red Paper Clip recently in NYC, thanks to a friend who hosted us for what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. The food was absolutely exceptional—creative, refined, and packed with flavor. My personal favorites were the oyster, potato & caviar dish (a luxurious bite), and everything brioche. For dessert, we had the Crème Fraîche Sorbet ( highlight of my meal), a light, tangy, and refreshing finale. The Negronis and wine flowed generously and set the tone for a relaxed and celebratory night. The ambiance was intimate yet lively, and catching up with old friends made the evening even more special. Red Paper Clip really delivered on all fronts—food, drinks, and atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and elevated dining experience in the city. ”

“ Tucked away on a narrow street in the heart of West Village, Red Paper Clip is a small yet remarkable restaurant that delivers a Michelin-starred dining experience. Its cozy and intimate setting provides the perfect backdrop for a tasting menu that masterfully blends New American, European, and Asian flavors. The tasting menu is a thoughtfully curated journey, featuring standout dishes like fresh oysters, a vibrant tomato salad, a delicate smoked salmon and caviar bite, and handmade pasta infused with the luxurious aroma of black truffles. The star of the evening is undoubtedly the lobster, presented in three creative and delicious variations. Each dish is crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients and executed with precision and care, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail that earned this restaurant its Michelin star. Red Paper Clip offers more than just a meal—it’s a dining experience that delights the senses. For anyone seeking inventive cuisine in an intimate setting, this hidden gem is highly recommended. ”

“ The first course; oysters, potatoes, and Hamachi crudo; was unbelievable! Truly a flavor explosion. The Summer Zucchini had the perfect amount of heat and was delicious, and the Everything Brioche was solid. I could’ve skipped the Agnolotti XLB and the brisket, though. Dessert was very good, especially the matcha gelato, which was out of this world. It was an odd night overall, when we arrived, only two tables were taken, and by 9 p.m. we were the only ones left. My guess is that the tasting menu price doesn’t quite match the experience, especially given how inconsistent the dishes were. ”

“ We came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday on a Saturday evening and all of us chose the prix fixe menu(they were able to accommodate for a vegetarian version which was a plus!). The meal started off strong — the first three appetizers were served together, and each was beautifully presented. The tomato salad with matcha sauce was probably my favorite, such a simple dish yet it had so many layers of flavor! The pie was amazing, and the dumplings were perfectly al dente. Unfortunately, the main course was where things started to dip. It felt quite plain and underwhelming compared to the earlier dishes, and the dessert didn’t really stand out either. The staff were nice and friendly, but perhaps because it was a busy Saturday night, they kept forgetting our drinks. We had to remind them several times. The service felt a bit disorganized, which was surprising for a Michelin-starred restaurant. Overall, we still had a great time, and the food especially the appetizers were memorable! ”
